Over 100 years of perforating expertise allows us to comply with almost any customer request.
CAD Capability
QPI uses computer aided drafting (CAD) to develop your sketches into shop drawings, to produce parts to exacting standards.
Tooling
The perforating process starts by designing and machining precision tools to exacting tolerances. QPI makes all its own tooling with CNC machinery, and has over 3000 tools on hand, with openings from .033 to 8" in round, square, hex, slotted and decorative. Tooling for special requirements can be built to order.
Perforating
All QPI’s presses are computer controlled, allowing the operator to produce consistent, error-free product in various materials. Materials include steel, stainless, galvanized, galvannealed steel, aluminum, brass, copper, plastic, as well as vinyl coated and pre-painted materials.

QPI’s presses perforate material thicknesses from 26 gauge to 1 inch with widths up to 60 inches. QPI adheres to all standard commercial tolerances of major domestic mills, and those established by the Industrial Perforators Association.
Slitting
Slitting to your finished width is done in-line from a master coil. Standard tolerances are +/-.005". Product is recoiled to your specification.
Cut-To-Length
Automatic in-line cutting is performed on material for lengths of 6 inches to 12 feet, and up to 60" wide. Standard tolerance +/- 1/16".
Shearing
When tolerances are greater than our in-line process our skilled operators shear parts with or without margins to +/- 1/32".
Roller Leveling
QPI has the equipment to bring its full range of thicknesses of perforated material back to the original flatness tolerance provided by the mill and to commercial as well as IPA standards
Degreasing
Degreasing process provides clean, oil free material surfaces.
Fabricating
CNC punching, press brake, punch press, circle shear, and spot welding operations are done in-house for products requiring extra holes, notches, mounting tabs, forming, bending and cutting.
Finishes
When finished parts are specified, sources are available for clear anodizing, electroplating, painting and powder coating.
Packaging
Perforated products are packaged for protection during shipment according to QPI’s stringent requirements. Wooden skids, crates, boxes or cartons are custom made for each job as required. Special packing, markings, or labeling are available upon request.
Shipping
QPI is equipped to handle skids and coils up to 20,000 lbs. for shipment by truck or air.
